How TMU picks
TMU is Ontario’s newest medical school. Like NOSM and Ottawa, it requires neither the MCATThe Medical College Admission Test, run by the AAMC. It has four sections: chemistry and physics, critical analysis and reasoning (CARS), biology and biochemistry, and psychology and sociology. Each section is scored from 118 to 132, for a total from 472 to 528. nor CasperAn online situational judgement test from Acuity Insights. You watch or read everyday scenarios and explain what you would do and why, in typed and video answers. Human raters score it.. Its first filter is the KiraKira Talent is an online platform where you answer timed questions on video or in writing. TMU uses a Kira assessment of six timed questions as its first cut. Step by step
- Meet the minimums. GPA 3.50 and a Four-year degreeTMU and NOSM need a finished four-year undergraduate degree before you start medical school. The other five schools take students after three years of study. done before Year 1.
- Kira assessment. Six timed questions, video and written, November 19 to 22, 2026.
- File review. Shortlisted files are reviewed in full. A second shortlist is interviewed.
- Interview. Six-station virtual MMI, multiple mini interviewA circuit of short, timed interview stations. Each station has a different scenario or question and a different interviewer, so no single conversation decides your score. Schools use it to judge communication, ethics and judgement, not science knowledge., or a Talking Circle for the Indigenous pathway. Late February and early March 2027.

Grades and tests
OMSASThe Ontario Medical School Application Service, run by the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre. One application reaches every Ontario medical school you pick. OMSAS also converts your grades to a common 4.0 scale. GPA on all undergraduate courses, including failed, supplementary and extra courses.

Pathways
At least 95% of annual admissions go to Ontario residents under the provincial rule in force since July 1, 2025. A connection to Peel Region is not required.
